Using your Ideal Caregiver Profile, we conduct a search and set up interviews with the best matches. You meet handpicked caregivers until you find the right one(s).
Select & Hire
We facilitate a "direct hire" relationship between you and your caregiver(s) by giving you all of the tools, forms, procedures, knowledge, and coaching.
During the winter of 2014, our family was given the news that our grandfather was terminally ill. Following a brief hospital stay and an unexpected discharge, we were was faced with the decision of how to provide the best possible care for a man who meant so much to the family. We began the daunting task of attempting to determine the options available offering good, quality and affordable care. We began by choosing a local rehab location where he was cared for during the day. It was a facility that was within our budget and had a good reputation within the community. However, what we found was that he was not being cared for in an acceptable manner. He was spending hours in his room unattended, the facility was understaffed and could not provide the attention we believe he deserved. My grandfather was becoming very frustrated and was continually asking to be cared for at home where he felt most comfortable.
With home care being his only request, our family made the decision to bring him home so he could receive care in the place he loved most. We made the choice to work with a local agency which provided in-home care. Each day a different care giver with varying levels of experience and motivation would arrive to care for our grandfather. Often times, the caregiver would not perform any of the necessary tasks or, worse yet, not show up at all. Out of all of the care givers who came to the home, there was only one that provided the care we felt my grandfather deserved so much. We would hope each day that this caregiver would be the individual who would arrive to provide care. Our family asked the agency if this caregiver could be my grandfather’s personal caregiver. Unfortunately, we were advised that the company cannot guarantee which caregiver a family will have each day.
During this daily caregiver saga, I thought to myself, “There has to be a better way.” Here is a 93 year old man who has lived through the Great Depression, fought in World War II, raised a family of five children, and has been actively involved in his community until he was in his 90s. He was a man who always put family first and made sure everyone was taken care of throughout his life and we wanted the ensure that he felt loved and cared for in the final stages of his life. We believed he deserved so much more, but struggled to determine how we could locate the best, yet affordable home care for him. That is when my wife and I began our research and located Hallmark Homecare. Hallmark Homecare is a company who realizes the importance of the patient-caregiver relationship and understands the value of having the same caregiver provide care each day allowing the caregiver to become a part of the family’s daily routine. Unfortunately, after a few short months, my grandfather passed away. However, his memory and the experiences my family had attempting to find the care he deserved provides my wife and me with the motivation to ensure other families do not experience the stress and uncertainty that we felt.
